Nothing to You?

Author: Rev. T. M. Eastwood Appears in 4 hymnals First Line: Is it nothing to you that long ages ago Refrain First Line: Is it nothing, nothing Lyrics: 1 Is it nothing to you that long ages ago The Saviour from heaven came down, Deprived of the glory he had upon high, Bereft of his beautiful crown. Refrain: Is it nothing, nothing, Nothing to you, Is it nothing, O sinner, to you? Bethink you today, Ere your life ebbs away; Is it nothing, just nothing to you? 2 Is it nothing to you that he wandered on earth, Despised and rejected of men? The foxes had holes and the birds had their nests, But he had no resting place then. [Refrain] 3 Is it nothing to you that he died on the cross, And bore such a terrible load, While out of his bosom the stream of his love, A current of crimson fast flowed. [Refrain] 4 Is it nothing to you that he entered the grave, And met the last enemy there, And conquered the legions of hell by his power, The crown of the victor to wear. [Refrain] 5 Is it nothing to you that he’s coming again, With angels a glorious train, To sit on his throne as the judge of the world, And then to eternity reign. [Refrain] Used With Tune: [Is it nothing to you that long ages ago]

C. Austin Miles

1868 - 1946 Composer of "[Is it nothing to you that long ages ago]" Charles Austin Miles USA 1868-1946. Born at Lakehurst, NJ, he attended the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and the University of PA. He became a pharmacist. He married Bertha H Haagen, and they had two sons: Charles and Russell. In 1892 he abandoned his pharmacy career and began writing gospel songs. At first he furnished compositions to the Hall-Mack Publishing Company, but soon became editor and manager, where he worked for 37 years.
