Hymnal Number: 39 Author of "The Breaking of the Day" in Songs of Calvary From The World's Crisis, 13 April 1921, p.7: "Elder Sederquist was born in Lower Granville, Nova Scotia, according to the narrative in his Life and Labors, Sept. 10, 1838. He was converted about the first of the year 1863, was baptized in February, and was soon out in the field in Gospel work, with open doors for his labors. After a few years he accepted the Adventist faith, and in the spring of 1871 entered the United States and took up his home in Lynn [Mass.]." --Entire article available in the DNAH Archives. Mary Hubbert Munford

Hymnal Number: 60 Author of "O Lord, Send the Power" in Songs of Calvary Mary Hubbert Mumford Ellis married to Joseph Cannon Ellis, both ordained minsters, take turns in preaching to their congregation at the Munford Primitive Methodist Church (in Philadelphia) They give their services without pay. Dr. Ellis, who is a practicing surgeon, conducts regular meetings in the church. His wife bears the title of assistant pastor. "I do not believe in a pastor accepting money for his church work" says Mrs. Ellis. "He–or she–should have other employment during the week and earn enough in that way to obviate such a necessity. We don't make any rule about who is to preach on a certain day. It depends on which of us the congregation seems to need most at a certain time." During the fifteen years of their married life, Dr. Ellis and his wife have conducted evangelical services in many sections of the county. The Washington Post Sunday, September 11, 1927, p. 35

1877 - 1953 Person Name: Rev. N. B. Herrell Hymnal Number: 105 Author of "Are You Ready Now to Go?" in Songs of Calvary Born: March 8, 1877, Miami, Indiana. Died: May 10, 1953, Pasadena, California. A Nazarene minister, Herrell was a pastor in Arlington, Virginia, when a heart ailment forced his retirement. 1846 - 1875 Person Name: G. E. Lee Hymnal Number: 2 Composer of "[Lift up the trumpet, O loud let it ring!]" in Songs of Calvary Lee, George E. (? July, 1846--January 11, 1875, Biddeford, Maine). Advent Christian. His frequent contributions to the Adventist papers were well received. He was a piano tuner, and his legacy of Adventist hymns is rich. Took his own life. --Moses C. B. B. Bosworth

1887 - 1958 Person Name: B. B. B. Hymnal Number: 78 Author of "He Paid it All" in Songs of Calvary Bosworth, Burton B. (University Place, Nebraska, May 24, 1887--February 17, 1958, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida). He did not attend college, but took special courses in harmony. He was married in Zion City, Illinois, on August 4, 1907, to Margaret Robinson. He worked for some years in the U.S. Postal Service, leaving it in 1915 to enter evangelistic work with his brother, Fred F. Bosworth.
