Representative Text

1 Sowing the seed of the Kingdom, sowing the seed by the way,
Working for Jesus, our Saviour, day by day;
Lavishly casting it broadcast over the hill and the plain;
Lo! in the rain and the sunshine, springs the grain!

Refrain:
Wonderful seed, heavenly seed,
Bearing abundant blessing divine,
Bearing abundant blessing divine, abundance blessing divine;
Beautiful sheaves, glorious sheaves,
Shall at the time of their reaping be thine.

2 Sowing the seed of the Kingdom, mercy and kindness and love,
Blessing the eye of the Master throned above;
Out in the field in the morning, toiling with courage and cheer,
Work till the stars of the ev’ning shall appear. [Refrain]

3 Sowing the seed of the Kingdom, sowing with patience and care;
Pray’rfully taking the message ev’rywhere;
Going on errands of mercy, strengthen’d with pow’r from on high,
Trustfully wait for the harvest by and by. [Refrain]
