O Father, the maker of beautiful things

Author: Percy Dearmer
Tune: [O Father, the maker of beautiful things]
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 O Father, the maker of beautiful things,
Like roses and daisies and butterflies' sings,
And mountains and forests, and water and show;
All show us thy love for thou makest them so.

2 All creatures are thin in the world and beyond,
The bee in the pollen, the fish in the pond,
The fox in his burrow, the bird on the bough:
All show us thy love for thou makest them so.

3 The lambs and the calves and the fols that are born,
The beans and potatoes, the roots and the corn,
The apple and cherry trees, row after row:
All show us thy love for thou makest them so.
