Representative Text

1 In the fullness of love,
Jesus came from above,
To redeem me from guilt and from sin;
And He died on the tree,
As a ransom for me,
And His blood makes me perfectly whole.
What a fullness of peace,
What a rapture of bliss,
What rejoicing when Christ made me whole;
When He showed forth His pow’r
In that wonderful hour,
And so sweetly spoke peace to my soul!

Refrain:
Oh, how sweet was the hour
When the Savior spoke peace to my soul!
By His wonderful grace,
And His wonderful pow’r,
I was cleansed and made perfectly whole.

2 Heavy laden with sin,
And defilement within,
I bowed low at His merciful feet,
And He poured forth the flood
Of the soul-cleansing blood,
And my healing from sin was complete.
Now my heart is a temple
Of gladness and song,
Overflowing with love and with praise!
Everlasting thanksgivings
To Jesus belong,
And to Him glad thanksgivings I raise. [Refrain]

3 It was when I believed
That His peace I received,
And my darkness was turned into day;
For He scattered the night,
And my soul saw the light,
And the burden of sin rolled away.
And now all the day long
His sweet love is my song,
And I tell of His grace o’er and o’er,
When I bow at His feet,
And His praises repeat,
And my wonderful Savior adore. [Refrain]
