God is here! As we his people

Author: F. Pratt Green (born 1903) Meter: 8.7.8.7 D Appears in 47 hymnals Lyrics: 1 God is here! As we his people meet to offer praise and prayer, may we find in fuller measure what it is in Christ we share; here, as in the world around us, all our varied skills and arts wait the coming of his Spirit into open minds and hearts. 2 Here are symbols to remind us of our lifelong need of grace; here are table, font and pulpit, here the cross has central place. here in honesty of preaching, here in silence as in speech, here in newness and renewal God the Spirit comes to each. 3 Here our children find a welcome in the Shepherd's flock and fold; here, as bread and wine are taken, Christ sustains us as of old; here the servants of the Servant seek in worship to explore what it means in daily living to believe and to adore. 4 Lord of all, of church and kingdom, in an age of change and doubt, keep us faithful to the gospel, help us work your purpose out: here, in this day's celebration, all we have to give, receive: we who cannot live without you, we adore you! we believe! Small Church Music

Editors: Greville Cooke Description: The SmallChurchMusic site was launched in 2006, growing out of the requests from those struggling to provide suitable music for their services and meetings. Rev. Clyde McLennan was ordained in mid 1960’s and was a pastor in many small Australian country areas, and therefore was acutely aware of this music problem. Having also been trained as a Pipe Organist, recordings on site (which are a subset of the smallchurchmusic.com site) are all actually played by Clyde, and also include piano and piano with organ versions. All recordings are in MP3 format. Churches all around the world use the recordings, with downloads averaging over 60,000 per month. The recordings normally have an introduction, several verses and a slowdown on the last verse. Users are encouraged to use software: Audacity (http://www.audacityteam.org) or Song Surgeon (http://songsurgeon.com) (see http://scm-audacity.weebly.com for more information) to adjust the MP3 number of verses, tempo and pitch to suit their local needs. Copyright notice: Rev. Clyde McLennan, performer in this collection, has assigned his performer rights in this collection to Hymnary.org. Non-commercial use of these recordings is permitted.
