I Never Will Leave Thee

Author: Alice Jean Cleator Hymnal: Songs for All #9 (1906) First Line: When burdens of life seem too heavy to bear Refrain First Line: Just think of God’s promise to you Lyrics: 1 When burdens of life seem too heavy to bear, When storm-clouds are hiding in the blue, O turn from the weight of your trouble and care, And think of God’s promise to you! Refrain: Just think of God’s promise to you, So faithful, so precious and true! “I never will leave thee—no, never forsake!” O think of God’s promise to you! 2 O look from the shadows to Jesus today, And, striving his bidding to do, Be mindful of blessings that brighten your way, And think of God’s promise to you! [Refrain] 3 When seemeth in vain the good seed that you sow, Remember bright sheaves you will view; Then look for the sunshine, as onward you go, And think of God’s promise to you! [Refrain] Tune Title: [When burdens of life seem too heavy to bear]
