1818 - 1893 Author of "Come, my soul, by sin oppressed" Newton, William. Member of the 1884 Hymnal Committee of the Reformed Episcopal Church. --Leonard Ellinwood, DNAH Archives Rev. William Newton, D. D., pastor of the Reformed Episcopal Church of West Chester (Pennsylvania), was a poet of much ability, and the author of a number of books upon religious and scientific subjects.
