Chris Beatty

b. 1944 Person Name: Christopher Beatty Scripture: Exodus 3:5 Hymnal Number: 15 Author (st. 1) of "Holy Ground" in The Minter Lane Hymnal VI Chris Beatty works as a vocal coach. Along with his wife, Carole, they developed a training program for singers of all levels. Chris is the son of a voice teacher. He was a voice major at Roosevelt University in Chicago and is a singer and songwriter. He wrote the song "Holy Ground" while he was a pastor. He has served as a worship minister for Churches of Christ in Texas and Tennessee and founded and directs Hallal Worship (Franklin, Tennessee).

Indianapolis, Indiana, February 9, 1932) was the music editor of *Great Songs of the Church, Revised*, published by ACU Press in 1986. He earned a B.S. degree in music education from Abilene Christian University, a masters degree in music composition and theory from the University of North Texas, and a Ph.D. in choral literature from the University of Iowa. Boyd edited *Children, Rejoice!* (Sweet, 1979) and he authored *Rehearsal Guide for the Choral Director* (Parker, 1970) and *Leading the Lord's Singing* (Quality, 1981). He is a member of Churches of Christ and lives in Abilene, Texas. Monty Lynn
