125. I Will Go to the King

1 I’ll go to the King with my burden of sin;
I know that His touch will give healing within;
He open’d a fountain, so blessed its flow,
Tho’ stains are like crimson, He makes them as snow.

Refrain:
I’ll go to the King;
My care I will bring
To the feet of King Jesus today;
He’ll receive me I know,
For His word tells me so,
He will take my transgressions away.

2 I’ll go to the King, in His wonderful love,
Extending His sceptre, He smiles from above;
He draws me still closer to lean on His breast,
And whispers “What wilt thou, and what thy request?” [Refrain]

3 I’ll go to the King for my needs by the way,
He gives me fresh manna, enough for each day,
With bright springs of comfort, so full and so free,
And light that will guide me till shadows shall flee. [Refrain]

4 I’ll go to the King for communion so sweet,
Within His pavilion my hallowed retreat,
Until in His palace I see face to face,
My King in His beauty, and feast on His grace. [Refrain]
