379. Lord Jesus, Our King, Enthroned On High

1 Lord Jesus, our King, enthroned on high,
Whose kingdom no man can measure,
It unto His children ever nigh,
To serve them, His greatest pleasure;
For our Father in the highest, He liveth,
He liveth.

2 To silence God's Word on children's lips
Is seeking to slay the Master;
But they who retrace king Herod's steps
Will follow him to disaster;
For our Father in the highest, He liveth,
He liveth.

3 God's angels to-day, as e'er before,
His message to children carry;
They enter, tho' fast be closed the door;
They come with His friends to tarry;
For our Father in the highest, He liveth,
He liveth.

4 From heaven God's angels come and go
Where Christ in the heart is dwelling,
His counsel they lend, His joy bestow,
All sorrow and woe dispelling;
For our Father in the highest, He liveth,
He liveth.

5 Be cheerful, ye children, in His name,
Our King He remains forever,
His goodness endures, His grace the same,
His mercy, His love, and favor;
For our Father in the highest, He liveth,
He liveth.
