As the day begins to dawn,
To the sepulcher approaching,
Loving hearts are drawing on.

2. They are seeking for the Savior
In the dampness and the gloom;
But He slumbers there no longer;
They approach an empty tomb. [Refrain]

3. Oh, how sadly do they question,
As in sorrow on they stray!
But behold the shining angel,
He has rolled the rock away! [Refrain]

4. Weep no more, ye sad disciples,
Your Redeemer ye shall see;
