Born: January 1, 1851, Dansville, New York. Died: May 20, 1927, San Diego County, California. Buried: Cypress View Mausoleum and Crematory, San Diego, California. A journalist and temperance crusader, Burgess edited God’s Blessings (Dansville, New York: A. M. Hall, 1890), and founded the Dansville Breeze.
