After leavÂing school at age 14, UnÂseld worked as a clerk in a counÂtry store. He reÂceived his first muÂsicÂal inÂstructÂion around age 15, from a comÂpanÂion who had atÂtendÂed a singÂing school. He was shown the repÂreÂsenÂtaÂtion of the scale in the old CarÂmiÂna SacÂra, and had it sung for him. At the friend’s sugÂgestÂion, he got perÂmisÂsion from his pasÂtor to pracÂtice on the church orÂgan.
