Representative Text

1 The golden light of Easter day
Descending from above,
Inspires the heart to sing and pray
To Christ, “The King of love.”

Refrain:
All things awake, to greet their Lord,
Who for our sins hath died;
Let us in one harmonious chord,
Hail Christ, the Crucified;
Let us in one harmonious chord,
Hail Christ, the Saviour crucified.

2 The happy birds in joyful song
Proclaim their praise to Him,
Whose love is always true and strong,
Whose glories ne’er grow dim. [Refrain]

3 The stately palms and lilies white
God’s temples now adorn;
Where we shall meet this Lord of light
Who rose on Easter morn. [Refrain]
