Representative Text

1 What does the Master expect of me?
I would know His will;
Is there a place where I ought to be?
I that place would fill;
Lead me, O Master, from day to day,
Patiently teach me Thy will, I pray,
All on the altar just now I lay;
What is Thy will for me?

Refrain:
What is Thy will, Thy will for me,
Help me to clearly see;
Help me to do it, whatever it be,
Only Thy will for me.

2 Is it a high or a lowly place?
What is that to me?
Just for the smiling of Thy dear face
Anywhere I’d be;
When I remember the cruel cross,
Think of the anguish, the pain and loss,
Honors of earth I can count but dross;
What is Thy will for me? [Refrain]

3 O that Thy love may to others flow
Thru this heart of mine;
Help me to live that the world may know
Of Thy love divine;
Thou who in pity our lot didst share,
Help me to lighten earth’s grief and care,
Help me the burdens of men to bear;
What is Thy will for me? [Refrain]
