Representative Text

1 There is peace and there is gladness in my heart today,
From the galling bonds of sin my soul is free;
For the Son of God has taken all my sins away,
And the angels are rejoicing over me.

Chorus:
Oh, the angels are rejoicing over me,
For the precious blood of Christ has made me free;
All my sins have been forgiven, there is joy in heav’n,
For the angels are rejoicing over me.

2 I had wandered far in darkness, seeking pleasures vain,
But one day I heard a tender, loving plea;
Now my soul is homeward going free from scar and stain,
And the angels are rejoicing over me. [Chorus]

3 I have fixed my heart on Jesus, resting in his love,
Well assured that he will keep me pure and free;
And I know that I shall see him on his throne above,
For the angels are rejoicing over me. [Chorus]
