Representative Text

1 The Victor comes with kingly tread,
A diadem upon His head;
He broke death’s bars in deadly strife,
And now He reigns the Lord of life,
Hail the King.

Refrain:
He comes, He comes in mighty pow’r,
Let songs, let songs exultant ring;
We celebrate His triumph hour,
All hail, All hail,
All hail the Victor King!

2 His brow was pierced with many a thorn,
His heart was bruised by words of scorn;
But love prevailed, Himself He gave,
And now we sing a conquered grave,
Hail the King. [Refrain]

3 We hail the King this Easter Day,
Who drives the gloom of death away;
The grave o’ercome, there’s naught to fear,
Rejoice, the risen Lord is here,
Hail the King. [Refrain]
