Representative Text

1 The light of truth is burning
Along our homeward way;
The wanderer returning
Beholds its golden ray;
It points to paths of duty
Where Christ would have us go,
Its radiance and beauty
None but God’s children know.

Refrain:
The light of truth seems dearer
When we to Christ belong;
The light of truth shines clearer
When we in Christ grow strong.

2 The light of truth’s revealing
God’s miracles of grace;
His wondrous pow’r of healing
That man can never trace;
This light, new hope is giving,
Inspiring us to tell
Of Him, in Whom we’re living—
Our Christ, Immanuel. [Refrain]

3 The light of truth is guiding
The lowly contrite heart;
To Him whose word abiding
Bids Satan’s hosts depart;
This light, that shines forever,
God’s works of love proclaim,
This light will fail us never
When lab’ring “In His name.” [Refrain]
