Representative Text

1 The higher life! for this I pray,
Oh, may I live it day by day,
Uplift me, Lord, in arms of love
From lower plane to heights above.

Chorus:
help me to seek the life above,
Teach me the hidden life to prove,
The holy life thy children know,
On me this wondrous gift bestow.

2 The hidden life, I fain would know,
Its wondrous grace on me bestow,
Teach me to live it, Lord, for thee,
That thou be manifest in me. [Chorus]

3 The life more holy, make it mine:
Oh, fill me with thy life divine,
Thy heav’nly strength to me impart
And cleanse form guilt my sinful heart. [Chorus]
