Representative Text

1 Stand fast in the Lord and the power of His might,
Stand fast, stand fast!
Stand fast in the Lord and battle for the right,
Stand fast in the Lord, stand fast!
In the conflict fiercely waging,
‘Gainst the pow’rs of sin engaging,
Tho’ the enemy be raging,
Stand fast in the Lord, stand fast!

Refrain:
Stand fast until the last,
Evermore a loyal soldier be;
Never yield until the field
Shall ring with glorious shouts of victory;
Stand fast until at last
You may lay your armor down,
And from Christ the Lord,
As your own great reward,
You receive the victor’s crown.

2 Stand fast in the Lord and the power of His might,
Stand fast, stand fast!
Press on, as He calls, by faith and not by sight,
Stand fast in the Lord, stand fast!
In the time of fierce temptation,
You are free from condemnation,
If you have God’s approbation,
Stand fast in the Lord, stand fast! [Refrain]

3 Stand fast in the Lord and the power of His might,
Stand fast, stand fast!
Beneath cloudless sky or in the darkest night,
Stand fast in the Lord, stand fast!
In the time of greatest sorrow,
From Him comfort you can borrow,
Soon will dawn the bright tomorrow,
Stand fast in the Lord, stand fast! [Refrain]
