Representative Text

1 Soldiers we, with armor brightly shining,
And above our head the royal standard toss,
All against one enemy combining,
While before us waves the banner of the Cross.

Refrain:
We are soldiers, soldiers,
Marching to the conflict
Against the hosts of sin;
With our Leader, great and glorious,
We’ll return victorious,
In His strength we’re sure to win.

2 Soldiers we, and Christ is our Defender,
At His signal word we charge against the foe,
Full allegiance unto Him we render,
And we gladly server, where’er He bids us go. [Refrain]

3 Soldiers we, with hearts alert and ready
To obey our Lord and answer ev’ry call;
Courage firm, and strength secure and steady,
For we serve Him, trust Him, love Him all in all. [Refrain]
