Representative Text

1 Shout aloud, Hosanna to the King of kings!
All my soul within me of his mercy sings;
How the hymn of triumph to the heavens rings,
When we overcome by the blood!

Refrain:
Glory! honor!
Glory to the Son of God!
Oh, praise him! praise him!
For we overcome by the blood.

2 In the smoke of battle, when the right seems wrong,
Ever pressing onward with a purpose strong,
We will shout for joy, for it won’t be long
Till we overcome by the blood! [Refrain]

3 Resting by the waters, in a sweet accord,
Knowing all the joys that his ways afford;
Vanished ev’ry pleasure, now we’ve seen the Lord,
And have overcome by the blood! [Refrain]

4 Marching, fighting, praising, in the storm and fire,
Tried and tempted daily, we are lifted higher;
Soon we’ll join the chorus in the ransomed choir,
Who have overcome by the blood! [Refrain]
