Representative Text

1 Satan, tares is sowing,
In the heart they’re growing
Where the golden seed of life is found;
Let them grow together,
In the sunny weather,
Till the angels glean the harvest ground.

Refrain:
Then the wheat they’ll gather home,
When the angel reapers come,
And the tares will be destroyed,
Oh, there’ll be an aching void
When the angel reapers hither come.

2 Satan, tares is sowing,
In our lives they’re growing
Where alone the deeds of love should be;
Savior, we would ever
Guard our lives, and never
Cherish word or tho’t untrue to thee. [Refrain]

3 With a patient yearning,
To the right e’er turning,
Lead us, blessed Savior, t’ward our home;
By the way of duty,
Holiness and beauty,
Ready for the reapers when they come. [Refrain]
