Representative Text

1 Onward, O soldier, anew to begin,
Forward to conquer the forces of sin;
Keeping the Spirit of Jesus within,
Never, O never retreat.

Refrain:
Never retreat, never retreat,
Jesus will help you the foe to defeat;
He will defend you, courage will lend you,
Never, never retreat.

2 Onward, O soldier, the mighty One leads,
Forward with Him who to victory speeds;
Sure that His grace is supplying your needs,
Never, O never retreat. [Refrain]

3 Onward, O soldier, the life-crown to gain,
Close to your glorious Leader remain;
Sure that the vict’ry your faith will obtain,
Never, O never retreat. [Refrain]
