Representative Text

1 O Jesus, Jesus! glorious name!
The name of all most dear!
It fees the guilty soul from blame
And banishes its fear.
Dark demons tremble at the sound
And sorrows flee away;
It looses souls by Satan bound
When they believe and pray.

2 The name of Jesus! none so sweet,
Nor yet so full of pow'r;
It fills my heart with grace complete,
And keeps me ev'ry hour.
It keeps me cleansed from ev'ry stain
With ev'ry fleeting breath.
In sickness it doth soothe the pain,
And quell the fear of death.
