O Hjertens Ve

Representative Text

1 O Hjertens Ve,
Og Sorg at se,
Som maa et Hjerte skjære,
At de Guds enbaarne Søn
Død til Graven bære!

2 O store Nød!
Guds Søn er død,
Paa Korset ihjelslagen!
Lægges nu i Graven ned
I sit Jordelagen!

3 O Menneske,
Din Adfærd se!
Du voldte ham den Vaande;
Thi for dine Synders Skyld
Opgav Krist sin Aande.

4 Se det Guds Lam,
Med Spot go Skam
Her ligger blodbestænket!
Din Forløser har sit Liv
For din Frelse skjænket!

5 O søde Mund,
Vor Troes Grund,
Hvi er du blodig slagen?
Alt, hvad lever her paa Jord,
Maa istemme Klagen!

6 O venlig' Blik,
Og Aasyns Skik,
Du Sol af Himmerige!
Hver den Sjæl, som slig dig ser,
Maa af Rædsel skrige.

7 O salig hver,
Som skjønner her,
Hvad Offer stort er skjænket,
Herlighedens Herre selv
Er i Graven sænket!

8 O Jesus Sød,
Min Trøst i Nød,
Jeg beder dig med Taare:
Hjælp, at jeg indtil min Død
Længes ad dig saare!

9 O Jesus sød,
Min Trøst i Nød,
Jeg beder dig med Smerte:
Hjælp, at jeg indtil min Død
Giver dig mit Hjerte!
