O God Whose Loving Has No End

Representative Text

O God whose loving has no end,
We grieve for one who died:
We mourn a husband, father, friend*
No longer at our side.

We grieve for moments never shared,
For music never sung.
Yet we have hope! Our Christ prepared
For us a glorious home.

We thank you, Lord, for healing gifts:
For faith that leads us through,
For hope that patiently uplifts,
For love that makes us new.

O help us, Lord, to wait the day
That we cannot yet see,
When you’ll wipe every tear away
For all eternity.

*Alternate wording:
“We mourn a mother, wife and friend”
“We mourn a woman, neighbor, friend”
or similar line
