Representative Text

1 My heart was always restless I sought peace ev’rywhere,
I found no satisfaction and gave up in despair,
Until I learned the story—how Jesus bled and died
To purchase me
On Calv’ry’s tree
Now I am Satisfied.

Refrain:
Praise God I’m satisfied I’m fully satisfied,
O it was for me on the cruel tree that He was crucified;
Praise God I’m satisfied, I’m fully satisfied,
I’m glad to know He loved me so Praise God I’m satisfied.

2 I tried the worldly pleasures—they only vexed my soul,
I drifted on not knowing God’s pow’r to make me whole;
Then habit’s chains soon bound me—to break loose how I tried,
But they held me fast
Till Jesus passed
At last I’m satisfied. [Refrain]

3 Some said I could not keep it—they tried to turn me back
And many times I stumbled while on the narrow track;
My old friends tried to win me “Come go with us” they cried,
But I said “No!—
I will not go,
For now I’m satisfied.” [Refrain]

4 Some think the way too narrow—they seek a broader walk
While others shrink from duty because the people “talk”;
So many started with me—but just a few abide
But I’ll go there
For it is true
That I am satisfied. [Refrain]

5 I know that Christ is coming back to earth again,
I hope to meet Him in the air and then with Him to reign!
I’ll really meet my Savior and stand right by His side
Altho’ I die
I’ll upward fly
Praise God I’m satisfied. [Refrain]

6 Now weary struggling sinner O! come into the ark,
Behold the door stands open and it is growing dark!
You’re weary of your burdens your sin in Calv’ry hide
Then you can say
With us today
Praise God I’m satisfied. [Refrain]
