Representative Text

1 My hand is in the hand of him who guides me day by day,
Whose constant care is keeping me—who will not let me stray;
His glories o’er my pathway shine, as on thro’ life I go,
And patiently He leads me where the pleasant waters flow.

Chorus:
In Jesus’ love I’m happy all the way;
I have his saving presence all the way;
He ever with me walks,
And blessedly he talks
Of joys that shall be mine on yonder shore;
In ev’ry time of trial he’s my Friend,
And one who will be faithful to the end;
My trust in him is stayed;
With him I’m not afraid,
And ev’ry day I love him more and more.

2 He knows the weight of ev’ry cross and trial I must bear;
I am his child, and am content to trust a Father’s care;
His promise is—he never will forsake me to my foes;
He wills and guides the storm and tempers ev’ry wind that blows. [Chorus]

3 Why he should love and care for me I cannot understand,
But I am fully satisfied to follow his command,
To do the work his wisdom has prepared for me to do,
To love him, and at all times to be loyal, brave and true. [Chorus]
