Representative Text

1 Most glorious things are said of thee,
Thou dwelling-place of love divine;
From out thy midst bright gleams we see,
For God in thee doth shine.

Refrain:
Who would not dwell in realms so fair,
All bathed in love’s eternal light,
With garments washed in blood to wear,
Thru holy love made white?

2 With luscious fruits thou dost abound,
And living wells of water spring;
With heaven’s truth I’m girded round
In gardens of my King. [Refrain]

3 A scepter love is that he sways,
And heavenly love the rule he bears;
‘Tis love that guides him in his ways,
And love the crown he wears. [Refrain]

4 With princely guests I feast each day
While dwelling in this blest abode;
At love’s bright fount my thirst allay,
My cup, the hand of God. [Refrain]
