Representative Text

1 List to the beautiful story
Of Bethlehem’s wonderful star,
Shining in radiant glory
Over the heavens afar.

Refrain:
Wonderful star! Glorious star!
Guiding the wise men who came from afar,
Softly thy light shines thro’ the night,
Bethlehem’s beautiful, beautiful star,
Bethlehem’s beautiful, beautiful star.

2 All thro’ their journey so lonely
The pilgrims that came from the East,
Followed this guiding light only,
Till the long wandering ceased. [Refrain]

3 Seeking the Savior so holy,
Who came to be Israel’s king,
Soon to His cradle so lowly,
Gold and frankincense they bring. [Refrain]

4 Jesus, Thou star of the morning,
Tho’ I’m but a child in Thy sight,
Turning from sin at Thy warning,
Gladly I follow Thy light. [Refrain]
