Representative Text

1 Let the gospel banner be unfurled,
Spread salvation’s message o’er the world,
See the midnight shadows flee away,
At the glorious dawning of the day.

Refrain:
Spread the glorious news from sea to sea,
Heav’ns salvation now is full and free,
Spread the news from sea to sea,
Now salvation’s full and free,
Spread the news, the glorious news from sea to sea.

2 Hail, Defeat of all unrighteousness!
Jesus comes His ransomed ones to bless;
Hosts of darkness yield their deadly might,
With the burst of heav’nly joy and light. [Refrain]

3 Oft as dawns the joy of waking day,
Grief and gloom as shadows flee away,
While in joy the nations join to sing,
Praise and honor to the mighty King. [Refrain]
