Jesus, Thou Star of the Morning

Representative Text

1 Jesus, thou Star of the Morning,
Shine on earth's sorrowful night;
Bring to us gladness, banish all sadness,
Let us rejoice in thy light.

Chorus:
Wonderful, Counsellor, Almighty God,
Father of life everlasting above,
Prince of Peace, with scepter of truth,
Rule o'er the world by the pow'r of love.

2 "Glory to God in the highest,
Peace and good-will unto men;"
Publish the story, sing of his glory,
Tell it again and again. [Chorus]

3 Jesus, thou Star of the Morning,
Still may thy glorious ray,
Bringing salvation, shine on each nation,
Turning the darkness to day. [Chorus]
