Sleep, Sleep

Representative Text

1 Jesus the meek and mild,
Came as a little child;
Bethlehem's manger cradled the stranger,
King—by His own reviled.

Refrain:
Sleep, sleep,
Angels are singing Thy slumber song;
Sleep, sleep,
Heavenly rest be Thine,
Sleep, sleep,
Angels are singing Thy slumber song;
Child so holy, sleep,
Sleep little child Divine.

2 Gift from above, the Best;
Child by the Father blest;
Watch o'er Thy sleeping, angels are keeping,
Naught shall disturb Thy rest. [Refrain]

3 Humbly we worship Thee,
Prince of Eternity,
My heart is seeking, Thy care and keeping,
Enter and dwell with me. [Refrain]
