Salvador T Martinez, Ph.D., (b. Manila, 22 June 1939) is a Filipino theologian and musician. He was professor of philosophy and religion and dean at Silliman University in Dumaguete City, the Philippines, and professor at McGilvary College of Divinity at Payap University, in Chiang Mai, Thailand He has been executive secretary at the Christian Conference of Asia and missionary of the Common Global Ministries Board of the United Church of Christ and Disciples of Christ. He has written other hymns: Blest be God, In the Lands of Asia, God of Asia. His hymns appear in Gather,New Century Hymnal, Lift Up Your Hearts, Sound the Bamboo, and Church Hymnal.
