If I Have Sorrow for My Sin

Representative Text

1 If I have sorrow for my sin,
If I have faith and love within,
Then God will give me life and light,
And daily strength to do the right.

Chorus:
Oh, lead me, Lord, along the way,
Teach me thy will, nor let me stray;
I turn away from self and sin,
I pray thee make me pure within.

2 If I have sorrow for my sin,
I know that heavenly light shines in.
The Holy One, with light divine,
Has made me see this heart of mine. [Chorus]

3 If I have sorrow for my sin,
His pardon I must seek to win;
And this the only plea I make,
O Lord, forgive for Jesus' sake. [Chorus]
