Representative Text

1 I do believe, I now believe
On God’s beloved Son,
And trust my soul’s salvation on
What He in love has done.

2 I do believe my soul is saved
From judgment, death and hell;
That Christ is mine; that I ere long
With Him above shall dwell.

3 I do believe my heart is fixed,
No longer shall it roam
‘Mid scenes of sin and vanity
Where peace can never come.

4 Then come and let us join to raise
A glad harmonious song,
Akin to that which ceaseless swells
From heaven’s immortal throng.

5 Thou, thou art worthy, precious Lord,
Worthy of all our praise;
For thou wast slain; Oh now receive
The song we gladly raise.
