Representative Text

1 How sweet is the word of Jesus, the Lord,
The crucified One for thee;
He comes to declare that thou art an heir,
To love beyond all degree;
He comes to thy heart, good news to impart,
Of mercy so full and free,
God’s wonderful love, sent down from above,
A message to you and me.

Refrain:
A message to you and me,
A message to you and me;
God’s wonderful love, sent down from above,
A message to you and me.

2 The cross is to thee a wonderful plea,
A message inscribed in blood;
It calls to thy heart, from sin to depart,
And give up the world for God.
Full pardon for sin, and cleansing within,
In Calvary’s cross we see;
O wonderful love, sent down from above,
A message to you and me. [Refrain]

3 The message is clear, O wilt thou not hear,
The Herald of Calvary:
“All things He hath done,” He spared not His Son;
His mercy is over thee.
O let Him come in, and cleanse you from sin,
He offers salvation free.”
O wonderful love, sent down from above,
A message to you and me. [Refrain]
