Representative Text

1 How heavy was my load of sin,
My garments how defiled,
Until I let my Saviour in,
And now I am his child.

Refrain:
I am his child, I am his child,
Praise God, I am his child!
I stand bewildered at the love,
The love that makes me his own child.

2 His peace at once he gave to me,
He stilled the tempest wild,
From heavy burdens set me free,
Because I was his child. [Refrain]

3 Tho’ obstacles of mountain height
Along my way have piled,
The sky above is always bright,
For now I am his child. [Refrain]
