Representative Text

1 He will come, the Lord of Glory,
From His home beyond the skies;
He will come, oh wondrous story!
For His promise never dies;
And we’ll hail Him “blest Redeemer,
Lamb of God for sinners slain,”
And we’ll bow in adoration,
While we sing the glad refrain.

Refrain:
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Prince of Peace! Eternal King!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Let the vaults of heaven ring;
Laud and honor, praise and glory,
To the Lamb for sinners slain;
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Christ is coming back again!

2 With the trump of God resounding,
And a shout of victory,
He will burst the clouds asunder,
Sweeping on triumphantly;
And the saints will quickly gather,
As the dead in Christ arise,
With a shout of joyful greeting,
To the Saviour in the skies. [Refrain]

3 Day of days, we wait and languish,
‘Mid a world of sin and woe,
Watching for the blest appearing,
Of the One who loves us so;
Home at last and reunited,
Far above the things of time,
‘Twill be glory, glory, glory,
‘Mid the realms of light sublime. [Refrain]
