Representative Text

1 Happily, cheerily, comes a song
Sweet the song,
Merrily, echoing loud and strong,
List, list the song,
Gratitude unto the Lord it brings,
Sweet the song.
Love is the fountain from which it springs,
‘Tis a sweet anthem of love.

Refrain:
Join the song, joyfully join the singing,
Love and praise unto the Saviour bringing,
Music sweet up from the earth is springing,
Sing, O sing, Jesus the Lord is King.

2 Children of nature rejoice and sing,
Gladly sing,
Wildwood and forest your tokens bring,
Jesus is King,
Daisies from meadows and brush from plain,
Swell the strain,
Sing pretty flowers your songs again,
Sing the sweet anthem of love. [Refrain]

3 Beautiful, beautiful be the song,
Sweet the song,
Nations of earth let the notes prolong,
Sing loud and strong,
God over nature is ev’rywhere
Giving joy,
Bidding all nations His bounties share,
Off’ring his gospel to all. [Refrain]
