God of the Searching Mind

Representative Text

1 God of the searching mind,
Help us Thy Truth to find,
That we may gaze, from error free,
With single eye on Thee.

2 God of the loving heart,
Teach us our humble part—
To live in kindness unto all
Thy creatures great and small.

3 God of th’aspiring soul,
Point onward to Thy goal,
That we, with eager strength and grace,
May run the spirit’s race.

4 Our Teacher and our Friend,
More of Thy wisdom lend,
That we in virtue may increase,
And find at last Thy peace.

Amen.
