Representative Text

1 Cheerily on, O Endeav’rers, away,
White are the fields for the harvest today;
Cheerily on, while the summer is bright,
Faithfully still our duty fulfill, go, work in the light.

Refrain:
Work in the light, be firm and true,
Keeping our pledge forever in view;
Eager to learn and ready to do our Lord’s command;
Lifting the soul oppressed into the calm of rest,
Heeding the call that speaks to all, go, work today.

2 Cheerily on, O Endeav’rers, to win
Perishing souls from the desert of sin;
Hopefully on, while the morning is bright,
Patiently still our mission fulfill, go, work in the light. [Refrain]

3 Cheerily on, O Endeav’rers, be strong,
God and the Church is our watchword and song;
Prayerfully on, while our noontide is bright,
Fervently still our calling fulfill, go, work in the light. [Refrain]

4 Cheerily on, for the Master we love,
Gathering sheaves for his garner above;
Trustfully on, with our mansion in sight,
Joyfully still the message fulfill, go, work in the light. [Refrain]
