Bless Us Father

Representative Text

1 Bless us, Father, as we read
From these open pages,
Precious lessons, kept for us
Thro' the bygone ages.

Chorus:
Bless us, Father, while we read
May thy Word grow dearer;
As we look to thee for help,
May the light grow clearer.

2 May the Holy Comforter
Bless to us the reading;
May we hear the Saviour's voice
Pleading, gently pleading. [Chorus]

3 Here we learn the will of God,
May we learn to do it;
Here we find the way of life,
May we still pursue it. [Chorus]

4 May we learn of Jesus' love,
Doing daily duty,
Till we see his face above,
In its wondrous beauty. [Chorus]
