Be of Good Cheer

Representative Text

1 Be of good cheer, the Lord of hosts
Will surely help your case,
Freely He came and paid the debt
To save the human race.

Refrain:
Be strong, be strong,
Fear not, and still be strong,
Be of good cheer, be of good cheer,
Be of good cheer, be strong.

2 He who His life spared not for thee,
Will not forsake thee here,
If thou but keep on happily,
Still watching unto pray'r. [Refrain]

3 Be of good cheer, fear not, fear not,
Have faith in Heaven's love;
God will not leave the trusting soul,
But will a helper prove. [Refrain]

4 Be of good cheer, be strong, be strong,
Let nothing make you fear;
Just keep your spirit full of song,
And watching unto pray'r. [Refrain]
