1. Anĝelar' el regnoj gloraj, trans la teron flugu vi.
Kreon laŭdis himnoj ĥoraj, himnu nun pri la Mesi':
“Venu nun, adoru nun al Krist', la ĵus-naskita Reĝ'!”

2. Paŝtistar' en kamp-deĵoro, kun la ŝafoj sub la lun',
Ĉe l' homaro la Sinjoro loĝas — jen la beba Lum';
Venu nun, adoru nun al Krist', la ĵus-naskita Reĝ'.

3. Magoj, lasu la kontemplon! Jen pli ilumina hel':
Di' ĉe l' homoj faras templon. Vin algvidos lia stel'.
Venu nun, adoru nun al Krist', la ĵus-naskita Reĝ'.

4. Jen sanktuloj plu atendas ĉe l' altaro kun esper'.
Di' subite ekdescendas inter homojn sur la ter'.
Venu nun, adoru nun al Krist', la ĵus-naskita Reĝ'.

5. Kvankam bebon jen ni vidas, sidos li sur Dia tron',
Al si la naciojn gvidos, Dios super ĉiu hom'.

Author: James Montgomery

James Montgomery (b. Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland, 1771; d. Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, 1854), the son of Moravian parents who died on a West Indies mission field while he was in boarding school, Montgomery inherited a strong religious bent, a passion for missions, and an independent mind. He was editor of the Sheffield Iris (1796-1827), a newspaper that sometimes espoused radical causes. Montgomery was imprisoned briefly when he printed a song that celebrated the fall of the Bastille and again when he described a riot in Sheffield that reflected unfavorably on a military commander.
