Representative Text

1 After a while, our sky will be bright,
Sunshine will banish shadows of night,
Evil will cease our souls to defile;
We shall be happy, after a while.

Refrain:
After a while, with whispers of love,
Jesus will sweetly call us above;
Burdens will fall and heaven will smile;
Joy will enfold us, after a while.

2 After a while, the storm will be past,
Billows asleep, our anchor be cast;
We shall have reached the beautiful isle—
Heaven—our homeland, after a while. [Refrain]

3 After a while, the dear ones we miss,
We shall enfold again with a kiss;
Bliss will be ours, for there, with a smile,
Jesus will greet us, after a while. [Refrain]
