Representative Text

1 O theme of music’s pages,
Illumed by light divine!
O crown of endless ages
That shall forever shine!

Refrain:
O joyous morn!
O glorious Easter Day,
When doubt and gloom
As shadows flee away!
O joyous morn!
O glorious Easter Day,
When doubt and gloom
As shadows flee away.

2 The night of gloom is ended,
Behold the morning’s ray!
To earth has joy descended,
All hail this Easter Day! [Refrain]

3 Behold a flood of glory
That gleams upon the grave!
All hail the angel’s story
Of heaven’ pow’r to save! [Refrain]
