Representative Text

1 Lord, may we see by faith and grace
your countenance in each sad face
of those who stand and wait outside,
encircled by your arms spread wide.

2 They cling to hope in their despair,
and long for life more just and fair,
a home that’s safe and bread to eat,
warm clothes to wear, and water sweet;

3 And here, within this sacred space,
a table where they have a place,
a font of blessing, friends who care
with helpful hands and heart-felt prayer.

4 Reveal yourself to them, we pray,
in what we do and what we say,
that as we share your love and grace,
we may reflect your holy face.
